2020 Cupertino STAR Award Recipients Announced
CUPERTINO, CA – Each year, the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce recognizes the outstanding people, organizations, and businesses in our community. 2020 has been an extraordinary year, so it is appropriate to acknowledge a few extraordinary people. This year’s STAR Awards offer a constellation of shining lights in our community.
Citizen of the Year: Josh Selo, West Valley Community Services
Non-Profit of the Year: West Valley Community Services
Business of the Year: Rotary Club of Cupertino
President’s Award: Marieann Shovlin, League of Women Voters
STAR of Cupertino Award: Patrick Ahrens
STAR of Cupertino Award: Darcy Paul
STAR of Cupertino Award: Dr. Andy Wen
City of Cupertino Employee of the Year: Amanda Hui, Cupertino Senior Center
Cupertino Union School District Educator of the Year: Stacy Smith, Garden Gate
Fremont Union High School District Educator of the Year: Sushma Bana, Monta Vista
De Anza College Educator of the Year: Brandon Gainer, Communication Studies
Santa Clara County Fire Employee of the Year: Fire Captain Jim La Fuente
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Employee of the Year: Deputy Kraig Kitong
This year’s event will be Friday, September 25, 2020, at 6:30 PM. This virtual awards event is open to the public. Reservations can be made at http://bit.ly/2020CupertinoAwards.
Included with registration is a celebration kit with wine, chocolates, and other non-perishable items. Celebration kits will be delivered to your home or office prior to the event. A Zoom link will be provided following registration.
